About the Role
St. Columbanus Secondary School (SCOSSI) is a prominent co-educational Catholic mission boarding school located in Ikwen, Obot Akara Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. Founded in 1959 by the St. Patrick Missionary Fathers, Kiltegan, the institution operates under the Catholic Diocese of Ikot Ekpene. We are widely recognized for combining rigorous academic training with deep moral, spiritual, and character formation. We are currently looking for diligent and trustworthy Stewards to join our dedicated support staff team and help maintain the high standards of our boarding facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of dining halls, dormitories, and common areas.
- Assist with the preparation, serving, and clearing of meals for students and staff.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and inventory management of kitchen utensils, dining equipment, and cleaning supplies.
- Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and food safety protocols at all times.
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards promptly to the school administration.
- Support school events, gatherings, and special functions as assigned by management.
- Minimum of a Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent relevant qualification.
- Proven working experience as a steward, cleaner, or in a similar hospitality or housekeeping role, preferably within a school or boarding facility.
- Good understanding of basic hygiene, sanitation, and safety guidelines.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work respectfully with students, teachers, and colleagues.
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks.
