About the Role
Charleson Luxury Hotels, a premier 32-room resort-styled hotel located in the heart of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, is seeking a diligent and reliable Steward to join our exceptional hospitality team. We pride ourselves on delivering world-class service, luxury accommodation, and therapeutic relaxation to our esteemed guests. In this role, you will play a vital part in upholding our immaculate standards across our dining and recreational facilities, including the Eunice restaurant, Mmadukaego bar, and infinity pool area.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure all kitchenware, tableware, glassware, and cooking equipment are thoroughly washed, sanitized, and stored properly.
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, dishwashing areas, and dining spaces in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist culinary and waiting staff with food preparation duties, kitchen organization, and transporting supplies as required.
- Manage waste disposal efficiently, ensuring proper sorting and adherence to environmental and hotel sanitation policies.
- Perform routine cleaning of floors, walls, and work surfaces within the back-of-house areas.
- Report any maintenance issues, broken equipment, or safety hazards immediately to the management team.
- Minimum of a SSCE, OND, or relevant certification in hospitality or a related field.
- Previous experience working as a steward, kitchen porter, or in a similar housekeeping role within the hospitality industry is an advantage.
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy loads.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced team environment.
- Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
