About the Role
Movana Hotel & Suites is a premier 4-star boutique hotel situated in the vibrant Alimosho corporate and commercial corridor of Lagos, Nigeria. Established in 2023, our property provides upscale accommodations, corporate event spaces, and high-end leisure amenities tailored for both business executives and discerning travelers on the Lagos Mainland. We are currently seeking a meticulous and hardworking Steward to join our dynamic hospitality team and ensure our facilities maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain spotless cleanliness across all kitchen areas, dishwashing stations, dining spaces, and guest-facing zones.
- Wash, sanitize, and properly store all chinaware, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, and cooking equipment efficiently.
- Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation, vegetable washing, and ingredient staging as directed by the Head Chef.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of waste, garbage, and recyclable materials in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct routine cleaning of floors, walls, work surfaces, storage racks, and exhaust hoods within the kitchen and hospitality areas.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and promptly report shortages to the housekeeping or maintenance supervisor.
- Support banquet and event teams with setup, teardown, and sanitation before and after high-profile corporate functions.
- Minimum of a SSCE, NECO, or relevant professional hospitality certification.
- Previous proven experience working as a steward, kitchen assistant, or in a similar housekeeping role within a hotel or restaurant setting.
- Strong knowledge of kitchen hygiene, sanitation standards, and occupational health and safety protocols.
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy loads, and perform strenuous tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong work ethic with good time-management skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a diverse team.
- Residency within the Lagos Mainland or Alimosho axis is an added advantage.
