About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced and meticulous Statutory Compliance Officer to join our dynamic finance team. In this pivotal role, you will safeguard our operations by ensuring adherence to complex Nigerian financial regulations, tax laws, and statutory obligations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a comprehensive compliance calendar, ensuring accurate and timely statutory filings, payments, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare, review, and coordinate statutory returns, schedules, and supporting documentation for relevant Nigerian authorities.
  • Monitor changes in legislation and regulatory requirements, assessing their direct implications for internal finance processes.
  • Reconcile statutory accounts and investigate discrepancies between tax returns, payments, and general ledger records.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Tax, Payroll, Legal, and HR teams to guarantee consistent compliance data and timely submissions.
  • Coordinate responses to statutory audits, regulatory reviews, and information requests while maintaining complete audit trails.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a closely related discipline.
  • Minimum of 8 to 12 years of relevant finance, tax, or statutory compliance experience, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
  • Mandatory professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, ICAN, or CITN.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Nigerian statutory regulations, ERP systems, and advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, high ethical standards, and proven integrity in financial management.
