About the Role
AgriFood Digital Library and Resource Center is seeking a dynamic and results-driven State Team Lead for an upcoming multi-year agricultural development programme in Nigeria. This initiative focuses on strengthening the ginger and sesame value chains through productivity enhancement, climate-smart agriculture, and market systems strengthening. Please note that this is a contingent position, with recruitment subject to project award and funding approval.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of all state-level programme activities in alignment with approved workplans and budgets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with state government institutions, private sector companies, and local stakeholders.
- Supervise multidisciplinary technical teams and ensure adherence to operational, financial, and quality standards.
- Work closely with the MERL team to track performance targets, collect quality data, and promote adaptive management.
- Ensure full compliance with donor regulations, organizational policies, and safeguarding standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Rural Development, Project Management, or a related field; a Master's degree is a distinct advantage.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience managing agricultural development, market systems, or donor-funded programmes.
- Proven track record of leading multidisciplinary teams and engaging with diverse stakeholders at the state or regional level.
- Strong expertise in agricultural value chain development, private sector engagement, and enterprise growth.
- Exceptional leadership, negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills.
