About the Role
Davidorlah Farms is a premier pineapple farm estate developer and management service company specializing in commercial pineapple farming and the nationwide distribution of fresh, healthy fruits and vegetables in Nigeria. We are currently expanding our agronomy team and looking for a passionate Agricultural Extension and Field Research Officer to join our dynamic workforce in Ago-Iwoye. In this role, you will bridge the gap between scientific research and practical farming, providing vital technical support to optimize crop yields and promote sustainable agricultural practices.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert technical advisory support to farm owners and field workers on best practices in pineapple cultivation, spanning land preparation, planting, crop maintenance, and harvesting.
- Design, execute, and monitor field trials and research initiatives aimed at improving crop yield, soil health, and integrated pest and disease management.
- Collect, analyze, and translate complex field data into actionable, practical agronomic recommendations for daily farm operations.
- Facilitate engaging training workshops, coaching sessions, and practical demonstrations to educate farm workers on innovative farming techniques.
- Monitor ongoing farm activities, maintain accurate records, and prepare comprehensive reports on crop performance, health, and project outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with farm management to design impactful extension programs that guarantee adherence to industry safety and quality standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Crop Science, Horticulture, or a closely related field.
- Proven working knowledge of sustainable agriculture, soil and water management, and modern pineapple production techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to design field research trials, gather accurate data, and interpret results for real-world agricultural application.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a proven knack for farmer education and technical coaching.
- Proficiency in utilizing digital tools for agricultural data collection, farm monitoring, and report generation.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and observation skills for diagnosing and resolving field-level challenges.
- Willingness to commit to a full-time, on-site role in Ago-Iwoye with regular hands-on farm engagement.
