About the Role
The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is a leading international nonprofit research-for-development organization committed to solving hunger, malnutrition, and poverty in Africa. We are currently seeking a qualified and visionary State Coordinator to drive the successful implementation of the I-Youth 2.0 project in Ogun State. In this pivotal role, you will champion youth agripreneurship, manage state-level operations, and foster strategic partnerships to transform agricultural value chains and enhance food security.
Key Responsibilities- Lead day-to-day implementation of I-Youth 2.0 activities within Ogun State in line with approved work plans, budgets, and timelines.
- Supervise and manage the state project team, ensuring high-performance standards and quality deliverables.
- Coordinate state-level training, enterprise development, and incubation activities for youth agripreneurs in priority value chains.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with state government ministries, community institutions, private sector actors, and financial institutions.
- Manage state-level budgets, procurement, and accurate monitoring and evaluation data collection in compliance with IITA and donor policies.
- Prepare timely narrative and financial reports for the Country Coordinator and represent the project at stakeholder engagements.
- Master's degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Business Administration, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in project implementation, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Demonstrated expertise in youth employment, agribusiness development, and managing donor-funded activities.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, community mobilization, and financial management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to communicate in the predominant local language of the assigned state.
