About the Role
Airtel Africa is a leading telecommunications giant dedicated to connecting millions across the continent with innovative digital services. We are currently seeking a strategic and results-driven State Business Manager for our West Region operations in Nigeria. In this critical leadership role, you will plan, monitor, and achieve customer and revenue market share objectives by leading high-performing teams to deliver excellence in network operations, customer service, and market expansion.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs the State Business Manager, you will oversee comprehensive regional strategies to maximize business performance. Your core responsibilities include:
- Drive revenue-earning customer net additions for both prepaid and postpaid segments by optimizing acquisition health and ensuring compliance on activations.
- Achieve zonal net revenue targets by executing customer service strategies, reducing bad debts, and driving value-added services (VAS) upselling.
- Enhance channel satisfaction scores through regular distributor audits, timely claim disbursements, and impactful trade service initiatives.
- Expand distribution width and depth by aligning active easy-charge outlets and scaling SIM-selling retail locations across showrooms and dealer networks.
- Oversee network coverage, site optimization, and quality assurance to maintain optimal cell availability and reduce outages.
- Deliver an exceptional showroom experience by upgrading infrastructure, ensuring standard compliance, and upskilling frontline staff.
- Champion employee engagement and motivate frontline teams through exemplary leadership and proactive action plans.
To be successful in this strategic role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in Management or related Social Sciences; a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) is a strong advantage.
- Minimum of 12 years of professional experience in retail sales within Telecommunications, FMCG, or Manufacturing, including at least 4 years at a middle management level.
- Extensive expertise in Route-to-Market (RTM) and Go-to-Market (GTM) strategies.
- Exceptional numerical acumen, analytical thinking, and relationship management skills.
- Proven leadership capabilities with a strong customer-centric orientation and flawless execution excellence.
