About the Role
Extension Africa (EXAF) is a pioneering data-driven agritech platform delivering private extension services to agricultural value chain actors. Through our grassroots network, we empower smallholder farmers, women, and youth to scale their productivity and income. We are seeking a dedicated State-Based Program Officer to drive our impact-driven initiatives in Oyo State.
Key Responsibilities- Translate donor-funded project work plans into actionable field activities across Oyo State.
- Train smallholder farmers and grassroots extension agents on climate-smart agriculture and digital tools.
- Ensure data quality, monitor project metrics, and maintain accurate reporting against the results framework.
- Build, train, and certify last-mile rural structures including Farmer Business Associates and local vendors.
- Facilitate the seamless handover of mature rural structures to the Commercial Arm's State Sales Team.
- Engage directly with local cooperatives, community leaders, and government stakeholders at the LGA level.
- B.Sc or HND in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Economics, Rural Development, or related fields.
- 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in agricultural or rural development projects, preferably with NGOs.
- Hands-on expertise in climate-smart agriculture and ICT4Ag tools.
- Proficiency in digital data collection platforms such as ODK and KoboCollect.
- Experience in recruiting, training, and managing community-level field agents.
- Strong fluency in English and the predominant local language spoken in Oyo State.
- Must be a resident of Oyo State or willing to relocate immediately.
