About the Role
Extension Africa (EXAF) is an innovative data-driven agritech platform transforming agricultural value chains across Africa. We empower smallholder farmers, women, and youth by expanding access to productive resources and market-led partnerships. We are currently seeking a dedicated State-Based Program Officer to drive our development programs and field activities.
Key Responsibilities- Lead donor-funded agricultural development projects, translating strategic work plans into impactful field activities across Kaduna State.
- Train grassroots extension agents and smallholder farmers on climate-smart agriculture and digital extension practices.
- Ensure data quality, monitoring, and accurate reporting aligned with the project results framework using digital tools.
- Build and certify robust last-mile rural structures, including Farmer Business Associates and local vendors.
- Collaborate seamlessly with the Commercial Arm's State Sales Team to facilitate smooth agent processing and handover.
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Economics, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in agricultural or rural development projects, preferably within the NGO or donor-funded sector.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience implementing climate-smart agricultural practices and ICT4Ag tools.
- Proficiency in utilizing digital data collection tools such as ODK, KoboCollect, and advanced MS Excel.
- Strong fluency in English and the predominant local language spoken in Kaduna State.
- Must currently reside in or be willing to relocate to Kaduna State.
