About the Role

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is a leading nonprofit research-for-development organization committed to addressing hunger, malnutrition, and poverty across Africa. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and resourceful State Administrative and Logistics Officer to support our growing operations in Ogun State. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in facilitating smooth administrative functions, coordinating logistics for community and youth agribusiness initiatives, and ensuring strict compliance with institutional policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate logistics for state-level activities, including workshops, training sessions, and Youth Agribusiness Park events.
  • Manage general administrative functions, office supplies, utility contracts, and local low-value procurement in line with IITA policies.
  • Oversee the receipt, inventory, and distribution of program materials and starter kits to participants with accurate record-keeping.
  • Supervise state drivers, manage vehicle scheduling, maintenance, and ensure adherence to safety guidelines.
  • Handle petty cash administration, financial retirements, and submit timely expenditure returns to the Project Accountant.
  • Support human resources administration, including staff onboarding, attendance tracking, and local stakeholder engagement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 2 to 4 years of relevant administrative and logistics experience, preferably within an NGO, research institute, or development program.
  • Strong working knowledge of Ogun State local government structures and communities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with high attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the state to rural and peri-urban locations.
