About the Role

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented professional to join our team as the State Administrative and Logistic Officer in Kaduna. In this vital role, you will oversee day-to-day administrative functions, local procurement, transport, and logistics for state-level activities, workshops, and Youth Agribusiness Park programs. You will play a key role in ensuring our operations run seamlessly while upholding IITA's high standards of compliance, safeguarding, and financial accountability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate logistics for state-level training, workshops, community events, and Youth Agribusiness Park activities.
  • Manage office administration, supplies, asset registers, utilities, and vendor contracts.
  • Handle local, low-value procurement and oversee the receipt, inventory, and distribution of program materials and starter kits.
  • Supervise state drivers, manage vehicle scheduling, maintenance, and fuel tracking.
  • Manage petty cash, prepare financial retirements, and submit timely expenditure returns.
  • Support human resources administration, staff onboarding, and stakeholder liaison with local government and community leaders.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Logistics/Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years of relevant administrative and logistics experience, preferably with an NGO or research institute.
  • Strong working knowledge of Kaduna state, local government structures, and community networks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with high attention to detail.
