About the Role

Jimoh Babalola University (JBU), a premium and fully licensed private higher education institution in Ilorin, Kwara State, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Staff Nurse to join its healthcare team. This role is vital to ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of students, staff, and the wider university community, in line with JBU's core values of clarity, capacity, and civility.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care within the university's health facility, promoting a healthy campus environment, and responding promptly to medical emergencies and routine healthcare needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional nursing care to students, staff, and visitors at the university clinic.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with medical guidelines.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies on campus.
  • Conduct routine health checks, screenings, and wellness assessments.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and documentation.
  • Assist visiting physicians and other healthcare professionals during consultations and treatments.
  • Educate students and staff on health promotion, disease prevention, and hygiene practices.
  • Ensure the university clinic is well-stocked with necessary medical supplies and equipment.
  • Adhere strictly to infection control protocols and healthcare best practices.
  • Support the university's overall health and safety policies and initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN) and Registered Midwife (RM) certification.
  • SSCE/GCE/NECO/WAEC (O'Level) with a minimum of five (5) credit passes, including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, and two other relevant subjects.
  • Evidence of completed NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate.
  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
  • Valid practising licence from the NMCN.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle emergencies with professionalism.
