About the Role
Ernst and Young (EY) is seeking a dedicated and analytical Staff member to join our Indirect Tax Core team in Nigeria. In this role, you will help businesses navigate complex regulatory landscapes, ensuring compliance and optimizing tax strategies while working within a leading global professional services network.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support teams in delivering comprehensive indirect tax compliance and advisory services to high-profile clients.
- Apply the Nigerian VAT Act, Customs and Excise Duty regulations, and international tax best practices.
- Act as a key liaison with clients and tax authorities, ensuring accurate and timely statutory filings.
- Monitor regulatory changes and policy updates, providing proactive insights to internal teams and clients.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop junior professionals while managing engagement economics and project budgets.
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of a Second Class Upper division in a relevant discipline.
- Mandatory professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, or CITN.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional tax experience, preferably within a Big 4 or top-tier professional services firm.
- Strong understanding of local and international VAT, Customs, and Excise Duty laws.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, leadership, and project management skills.
