We are currently seeking a skilled and driven Staff, Indirect Tax Core professional to join our thriving tax team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in delivering comprehensive indirect tax advisory and compliance services, helping our diverse client base navigate complex regulatory landscapes with confidence.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support engagement teams in providing top-tier indirect tax compliance and advisory services.
- Apply the Nigerian VAT Act, Customs and Excise duty regulations, and international best practices to resolve client challenges.
- Act as a key liaison with clients and tax authorities, ensuring the accurate and timely filing of statutory indirect tax returns.
- Monitor changes in indirect tax laws, policy developments, and global trends to keep internal teams and clients well-informed.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop junior team members, fostering a collaborative culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
- Manage engagement economics, including budgeting, billing, and cash collection, while upholding strict quality and risk management standards.
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of a Second Class Upper division in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution.
- Mandatory professional certification including membership in ICAN, ACCA, or CITN.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience specializing in indirect tax, preferably gained within a Big 4 or top-tier professional services firm.
- Comprehensive understanding of local and international VAT regulations, as well as Customs and Excise Duty laws.
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to manage complex tax projects.
- Proficiency in indirect tax compliance tools and the Microsoft Office Suite.
