About the Role

The Institute of Genomics and Global Health (IGH) is a pioneering research institute dedicated to advancing public health in Africa through cutting-edge genomics. Evolving from ACEGID, IGH now expands its impact to cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and precision medicine. We are currently seeking a meticulous and dedicated Account Officer to support our pan-African workforce development initiative, the STRIDE Program, based in Ede, Osun State.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the STRIDE program, including expense tracking, ledger entries, and reconciliations.
  • Process and record approved program expenditures in compliance with organisational policies, donor regulations, and accounting standards.
  • Prepare regular financial reports, summaries, and analyses for internal management, the Head Accountant, and donor reporting requirements.
  • Monitor budgets, flag discrepancies, and provide timely updates on actual versus planned expenditures.
  • Assist in preparing financial documentation and supporting materials for audits and donor reviews.
  • Coordinate with program staff to ensure proper documentation, approvals, and classification of expenses.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in accounting, preferably in NGOs, research programs, or donor-funded projects.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budget monitoring.
  • Proficiency in ERP/Accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with donor financial rules, regulations, and multi-partner program finance.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical abilities, and strong communication skills.
