About the Role
Premiere Urgence Internationale (PUI) is an international, non-profit, and apolitical humanitarian organization dedicated to providing comprehensive emergency responses to vulnerable populations. We are currently seeking a qualified and compassionate Stabilization Center Medical Doctor to join our dynamic health and nutrition team in Nigeria. In this vital role, you will oversee the day-to-day management of Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) with medical complications, ensuring that all treatments meet rigorous national and international humanitarian standards while upholding the dignity and rights of every patient.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive daily ward rounds, evaluate patient progress meticulously, and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
- Supervise the clinical management of SAM patients, ensuring adherence to established protocols for stabilization, feeding, and emergency interventions.
- Provide robust mentorship, on-the-job training, and capacity building for SC nurses, nurse assistants, and pediatric ward staff.
- Oversee accurate data collection, compilation, and timely reporting of stabilization center activities and medical supply utilization.
- Collaborate closely with the Health and Nutrition Project Manager, logistics teams, and external stakeholders including the Ministry of Health and WHO.
- Degree in Medicine and Surgery from a recognized university with a valid practicing license from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- Minimum of 2 years of progressive clinical experience, ideally within a Stabilization Center or CMAM program in a humanitarian context.
- Strong fluency in English and mandatory proficiency in Hausa, with Kanuri language skills considered a distinct asset.
- Demonstrated proficiency in standard Microsoft Office applications for reporting and data management.
