About the Role
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a dedicated and passionate SRH Community Mobilization Assistant to support our Impact@Scale for Contraception & Postpartum Hemorrhage project in Anka, Nigeria. In this role, you will play a vital part in expanding access to quality sexual and reproductive health services by driving community engagement, demand generation, and facility linkages.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct community assessments and implement mobilization activities to raise awareness of family planning services.
- Facilitate health education sessions, addressing myths and promoting informed decision-making among diverse community groups.
- Establish strong linkages between communities and health facilities to ensure seamless client referrals and continuity of care.
- Supervise, train, and mentor community health volunteers, peer educators, and male champions.
- Collect, document, and report accurate data on community mobilization, referrals, and feedback mechanisms.
- Registered Nurse, Midwife, CHEW, or equivalent relevant health qualification.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in community mobilization, health promotion, or family planning.
- Demonstrated experience working with community structures, traditional leaders, and volunteers.
- Full professional proficiency in English and Hausa (or other relevant local languages).
- Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
