About the Role
Nile University of Nigeria, a prestigious private multidisciplinary institution in Abuja and a member of Honoris United Universities, is looking for a skilled Specialist, IT Operations. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the security, stability, and reliability of our campus-wide network infrastructure and surveillance systems.
Key Responsibilities- Install, configure, and maintain IP CCTV cameras, NVRs, and related video management software across all university sites.
- Deploy and troubleshoot enterprise network equipment including routers, switches, access points, and firewalls.
- Perform structured cabling installations, terminations, and testing for Cat6 and fibre optics.
- Monitor system health, execute routine maintenance, and quickly diagnose hardware or connectivity faults on-site and remotely.
- Apply firmware updates, enforce security best practices, and maintain accurate documentation of network layouts and configurations.
- Support integrated systems such as access control, alarms, and intercoms while advising on future technological upgrades.
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in IT operations, CCTV deployment, and network infrastructure management.
- Relevant professional certifications such as CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA.
- Deep understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, and PoE.
- Hands-on familiarity with major CCTV brands like Hikvision, Dahua, or Axis and networking gear such as Cisco and Ubiquiti.
