About the Role
Thoughtful House Foundation is a registered not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing children on the Autism Spectrum with a fulfilling life through expert care and evidence-based programs. We are seeking a skilled, compassionate, and committed Special Education Teacher to join our inclusive learning environment in Nigeria. In this role, you will work closely with students, classroom teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary professionals to implement individualized learning programs that address each child's unique educational goals.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and review Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to students with diverse learning needs.
- Apply differentiated instruction, structured teaching, and evidence-informed intervention strategies.
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and therapists to support functional literacy, numeracy, and social skills development.
- Utilize data collection methods and digital tools for rigorous progress monitoring and documentation.
- Provide positive behavior support and implement functional communication training in a calm, consistent manner.
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, or a related field.
- Recognized teaching certification is a strong advantage.
- Proven experience working with children with autism and specific learning difficulties.
- Familiarity with Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), visual supports, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
- Strong observation, communication, and resourcefulness skills with a commitment to inclusive education.
