About the Role
Jumia is the leading online shopping destination in Nigeria, dedicated to providing customers with a seamless e-commerce experience across a vast range of electronics, fashion, and home appliances. We are currently looking for a results-driven Sorting Hub Team Lead to join our fast-paced logistics team in Asaba, Delta State.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and lead a team of sorting hub operators, providing daily guidance, coaching, and performance management.
- Assign daily tasks and prioritize workloads to ensure operational targets, strict deadlines, and same-day shipping goals are consistently met.
- Monitor and ensure accurate shipment scanning at every leg of the journey for reliable tracking updates.
- Coordinate pickup cut-off times with third-party logistics and controlled fleet partners while actively managing exception handling.
- Conduct regular quality checks, maintain strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures and safety protocols, and coordinate equipment maintenance.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Logistics, Warehouse, Network, and Customer Service teams to guarantee smooth inbound and outbound handovers.
- Proven experience in sorting hub operations, logistics, or warehouse management with strong supervisory skills.
- Familiarity with sorting equipment, machinery, scanners, and inventory tracking software.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively motivate a diverse team.
- Mandatory possession of a NYSC certificate or a valid exemption letter.
- Must reside in or be readily able to commute to Asaba, with the flexibility to work shifts including evenings and weekends.
