About the Role
Jumia is Nigeria's leading online shopping destination, offering a wide array of electronics, fashion, home appliances, and more with reliable delivery options. We are currently looking for a results-driven and experienced Sorting Hub Senior Operator to join our logistics team in Asaba. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting daily sorting hub operations, guaranteeing the efficient handling, sorting, and processing of all incoming and outgoing shipments while strictly maintaining quality, safety, and Service Level Agreement (SLA) standards.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee sorting hub operators to ensure efficient sorting, handling, and processing of all shipments.
- Ensure timely scanning at every leg of the shipment journey to maintain accurate movement tracking.
- Support same-day shipping targets for all Jumia Express shipments and coordinate pickup cut-off times with partners.
- Assign tasks, prioritize workloads, optimize daily workflows, and mentor team members on SOPs and safety protocols.
- Monitor sorting equipment and machinery, identifying maintenance needs and coordinating timely repairs.
- Conduct regular quality checks, manage exception handling for delayed items, and resolve operational issues promptly.
- Collaborate closely with Logistics, Warehouse, and Customer Service teams to streamline inbound and outbound shipments.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives and promote a robust culture of safety, quality, and teamwork.
- Proven experience in sorting hub operations, logistics, or warehouse management with strong leadership skills.
- Familiarity with operating sorting equipment, machinery, conveyors, scanners, and tracking technology tools.
- Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
- Must possess an NYSC certificate or a valid exemption letter.
- Mandatory requirement: Candidates must currently reside in Asaba, Delta State.
