About the Role
The Katsina State Government is seeking a talented and driven Software Engineer II (Grade Level 08) to join our public sector technology team. In this role, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of digital solutions designed to improve public service delivery, administrative efficiency, and e-governance for the residents of Katsina State. We are looking for an innovative technologist who is passionate about leveraging modern software engineering practices to solve real-world civic challenges in a dynamic government environment.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, test, and deploy robust software applications and digital platforms for various state ministries and agencies.
- Collaborate with government stakeholders, IT specialists, and administrative staff to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize existing software systems to ensure high availability, security, and performance.
- Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code using modern programming languages and frameworks.
- Participate in code reviews, technical documentation, and knowledge-sharing sessions within the engineering unit.
- Ensure compliance with state data security policies and implement best practices for information security.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering or a closely related field from a recognized and accredited institution.
- Must be registrable with relevant professional bodies.
- Must possess a valid National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge or exemption certificate.
- Applicants must be proud indigenes of Katsina State.
- Must be between 18 and 49 years of age at the time of application.
- Must successfully pass the competitive merit-based recruitment test and subsequent screening stages.
