About the Role
Appzone Limited, a pioneer in African fintech and the creator of BankOne, is looking for a talented and driven Software Engineer to join our dynamic team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a crucial part in transforming the financial services industry across emerging markets by designing, building, and deploying world-class banking and payment automation software that empowers financial institutions.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development of product enhancements from initial system design through to seamless production deployment.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and architect robust solutions meeting critical business needs.
- Write clean, high-quality code primarily in C# and the .NET Framework, leveraging additional server-side languages as required.
- Conduct thorough testing of new features and functionalities to ensure they consistently meet rigorous internal quality standards.
- Utilize modern containers and messaging services to guarantee that our financial products remain highly scalable and reliable.
- Participate actively in code reviews to maintain optimal code quality, performance, and long-term maintainability.
- Perform root cause analysis on complex application issues and develop swift, permanent technical solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical roadblocks related to our core banking and payment software products.
- Document product enhancements thoroughly and communicate technical changes clearly to all relevant stakeholders.
- Mentor junior developers, sharing technical knowledge and providing guidance to foster team growth.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience, ideally within the fintech or banking sector.
- Strong technical proficiency in C#, the .NET Framework, and robust SQL database management.
- Working knowledge of web-based technologies including HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience with system architecture, designing scalable cloud services, containerization (Docker), and messaging queues (Kafka, Azure Service Bus).
- Proven ability to lead projects independently and mentor junior engineering talent.
