About the Role
Turnkey Africa Ltd is the leading pan-African insurance and bancassurance technology and services provider, empowering over 42 clients across 7 countries. We are looking for an ambitious Report and BI Engineer to join our Evolve team, working alongside experienced professionals to deliver robust backend solutions, optimize reporting workflows, and support core insurance platforms.
Key Responsibilities- Build and maintain Evolve services, features, and bug fixes using Java, Spring Boot, and SQL under guidance.
- Develop and update REST APIs, ensuring accurate OpenAPI documentation and seamless frontend integration.
- Write comprehensive unit and integration tests, collaborating with QA teams to verify fixes and ensure data consistency.
- Investigate production issues using approved tools and logs, escalating high-risk problems promptly.
- Follow secure coding practices to protect sensitive customer data and support release preparation tasks.
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- Foundational proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, object-oriented programming, and relational databases.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, HTTP, JSON, SQL queries, and version control using Git.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative working style with clear communication.
- Bonus experience includes exposure to Hibernate, JPA, frontend technologies like Angular, or CI/CD workflows.
