About the Role
Pagatech Limited was founded in 2009 with a vision to enable a cashless society and bank the unbanked across Africa. Our flagship product, Paga, is an innovative, secure, and interoperable mobile payments platform that transforms mobile phones into electronic wallets. We are currently looking for a visionary and technical Software Architect to drive the design and delivery of our enterprise-grade financial systems.
Key Responsibilities- Provide visionary and strategic technical leadership, engaging directly in business and product decision-making.
- Oversee end-to-end software concerns for major platform areas, including design, implementation, data management, DevOps, and infrastructure.
- Ensure high performance, reliability, security, scalability, and maintainability across all product lines.
- Drive development processes and conduct in-depth code reviews for complex, high-impact changes.
- Mentor and provide technical oversight to software and database engineering teams.
- Engage effectively with industry partners to achieve strategic product goals.
- Degree in a related discipline or an advanced degree with a minimum of 8 to 10 years of continuous enterprise software development experience.
- Extensive hands-on expertise with Java/J2EE, Spring, Kafka, and micro-service architecture concepts.
- Proficiency in front-end frameworks including Vue.js and React.
- Strong background in relational database architecture and administration such as MSSQL Server and PostgreSQL.
- Experience with containerization frameworks like Kubernetes and Docker, plus cloud deployment on AWS or Azure.
- Deep understanding of OLTP and financial transaction processing concerns.
