About the Role
The St. Bridget's Schools, an esteemed educational institution in Aba, Abia State with a rich legacy dating back to 1987, is seeking a passionate and qualified Social Studies Teacher for our Junior Secondary School section. In this role, you will play a vital part in shaping young minds, delivering dynamic instruction, and upholding our commitment to academic excellence, character building, and future readiness.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver engaging Social Studies lessons in line with the approved Nigerian curriculum.
- Prepare comprehensive lesson plans, notes, assignments, tests, and instructional materials.
- Assess, monitor, and record students’ academic progress and attendance accurately.
- Maintain effective classroom management and a positive, disciplined learning environment.
- Encourage critical thinking, cultural awareness, and active student participation.
- Communicate professionally with parents, colleagues, and school management regarding student development.
- Participate actively in school events, staff meetings, and professional development programs.
- Minimum of NCE, HND, or Bachelor's Degree in Education, Social Studies, or a related field.
- Previous teaching experience at the Junior Secondary School level is a distinct advantage.
- Strong knowledge of the relevant curriculum and modern teaching methodologies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and educational technology.
- TRCN registration and experience preparing students for BECE exams are added advantages.
