About the Role

The Diocese of Evo Education Board, the administrative arm of the Diocese of Evo, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) in Rivers State, is seeking a passionate and experienced Social Studies Teacher to join our esteemed academic community. In this role, you will foster a dynamic and engaging learning environment, imparting critical social values and civic understanding to our students while upholding the moral and academic standards of our missionary institutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Social Studies lessons in accordance with the approved Nigerian secondary school curriculum.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and maintaining accurate academic records.
  • Prepare senior secondary students effectively for external examinations including WAEC and NECO.
  • Promote positive student behavior, discipline, and moral development within and outside the classroom.
  • Participate actively in school meetings, professional development workshops, and extracurricular co-curricular activities.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Education (B.Ed.) in Social Studies or a related relevant subject area.
  • A minimum of 5 years of active classroom teaching experience.
  • At least 3 years of demonstrable experience successfully handling WAEC and NECO examination classes is a distinct advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of modern, interactive, and effective teaching methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to inspire students.
