About the Role
The Dangote Group is seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to lead our captive power generation and energy management functions. In this vital leadership role, you will ensure 100 percent reliable, cost-effective, and efficient power supply to support our large-scale cement manufacturing operations, while driving operational excellence, sustainability, and strict compliance with global safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee operations of Captive Power Plants and Waste Heat Recovery systems to guarantee uninterrupted power supply to all production lines.
- Lead preventive, predictive, and shutdown maintenance programs for boilers, turbines, generators, and balance of plant systems.
- Optimize specific power consumption, heat rates, and thermal efficiency through advanced energy management dashboards and performance analytics.
- Manage generation costs, optimize fuel mix, and drive continuous cost-per-kWh reduction strategies aligned with corporate budgets.
- Champion Dangote’s Zero Harm safety culture, ensuring full compliance with environmental regulations and company HSE policies.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performance engineering team while collaborating closely with production and corporate energy stakeholders.
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with active COREN registration or equivalent professional certification.
- Minimum of 15 to 20 years of robust experience in power generation or heavy cement manufacturing, including 5 to 8 years in a senior leadership role.
- Extensive technical expertise in thermal power plant operations, Waste Heat Recovery technology, and reliability-centered maintenance.
