About the Role
Margaret Lawrence University (MLU) is a prestigious private institution established in 2022, committed to academic excellence and groundbreaking research. We are currently seeking a qualified and dynamic Senior Technologist to join our Department of University Laboratories within the Laboratory Technical Services unit at our main campus in Delta State, Nigeria. In this vital role, you will ensure the seamless operation of our state-of-the-art laboratories, fostering a safe and productive environment for both students and faculty researchers.
Key Responsibilities- Manage daily laboratory operations, ensuring adherence to strict safety protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Support academic staff and students in conducting practical laboratory sessions, experiments, and research activities.
- Maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair complex laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
- Implement and maintain rigorous quality assurance frameworks for all laboratory procedures and chemical inventories.
- Train junior laboratory staff and enforce strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Possession of a relevant Bachelor's degree, HND, or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant laboratory science discipline.
- Current and appropriate professional registration or licensure where applicable.
- Demonstrated post-qualification professional experience commensurate with a senior technologist cadre within an academic or industrial setting.
- Comprehensive knowledge of laboratory safety standards, quality assurance, and equipment maintenance.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with faculty and students.
