Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Technologist I, you will play a hands-on role in daily laboratory operations. Your primary duties will include:
- Preparing and setting up equipment, instruments, and materials for practical classes and research projects.
- Operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Enforcing strict laboratory safety protocols, quality assurance standards, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Assisting academic staff and students during practical laboratory sessions and research activities.
- Managing laboratory inventory, requisitioning supplies, and keeping accurate records of chemical and equipment usage.
To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Possession of a relevant Bachelor's degree, HND, or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant laboratory discipline.
- Current and appropriate professional registration or license where applicable.
- Demonstrated relevant post-qualification experience commensurate with the Technologist I cadre.
- Strong working knowledge of laboratory safety guidelines, quality assurance, and standard operating procedures.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively.
