About the Role
The University of Benin (UNIBEN) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Research Fellow to join our esteemed Petroleum and Energy Systems Research Centre. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead advanced academic and industrial research, mentor the next generation of engineers, and contribute significantly to sustainable energy development in Nigeria and beyond.
Key Responsibilities- Lead cutting-edge research initiatives within the Petroleum and Energy Systems Research Centre.
- Secure research grants and foster collaborative partnerships with industry stakeholders.
- Supervise and mentor postgraduate students and junior researchers.
- Publish high-impact, peer-reviewed articles in reputable national and international journals.
- Contribute to curriculum development and academic administration within the department.
- A PhD or recognized appropriate professional qualification in Petroleum Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Must possess a First Degree with not below a Second-Class Upper Division, or a Second-Class Lower Division with a PhD.
- A minimum of five (5) years of teaching or research experience in a tertiary or research institution.
- At least ten (10) years of cumulative working and professional experience in the relevant petroleum or energy industry.
- A strong publication record with a minimum of eight (8) peer-reviewed journal articles.
- Demonstrable evidence of professional competence, research capacity, and scholarly contribution.
