About the Role
Brighthouse Academy is seeking an ambitious and visionary Head Teacher to lead the launch and ongoing management of our Primary section in Kogi State, Nigeria. This exciting start-up leadership role allows you to build the curriculum, culture, systems, and team from the ground up, combining academic excellence with hands-on administration and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities- Design and establish the Primary section structure, timetable, and academic calendar from scratch.
- Develop an original, locally-grounded mixed curriculum blending national frameworks with Kogi State and Nigerian content.
- Lead recruitment, training, supervision, and professional development for teaching and support staff.
- Manage day-to-day administration, basic financial budgeting, procurement, and asset tracking.
- Ensure full compliance with Nigerian basic education regulations and Kogi State requirements.
- Act as the primary liaison for parents, community stakeholders, and school leadership.
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), B.A/B.Sc with PGDE, or equivalent (Master's degree is a strong advantage).
- Valid TRCN certificate and recognized teaching qualification at the primary level.
- Proven experience launching a school, department, or section from the ground up.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development and incorporating local content.
- Strong background in staff supervision, teacher coaching, and basic financial administration.
