About the Role
Craneburg Construction Company, one of Nigeria's largest and most diversified private construction groups, is looking for a dynamic Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our expanding team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the commercial and contractual success of our landmark building, civil, and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities- Manage comprehensive cost planning, budgeting, estimating, and financial control for large-scale construction projects.
- Prepare, review, and analyze Bills of Quantities, cost estimates, valuations, and tender pricing documents.
- Measure and value completed works, negotiate variations, manage claims, and handle extensions of time.
- Prepare interim payment applications and rigorously review subcontractor and supplier payment claims.
- Monitor project expenditures against approved budgets, identify cost variances, and implement risk-mitigation strategies.
- Liaise effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers on all commercial matters.
- Prepare accurate monthly commercial, cost, and forecast reports for senior management.
- Supervise, mentor, and guide junior quantity surveyors and commercial team members.
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a closely related field.
- Active professional membership or certification with NIQS, RICS, or a recognized equivalent is a strong advantage.
- Minimum of 7 to 10 years of proven quantity surveying experience within the Nigerian or international construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of standard construction contracts, measurement rules, and final account settlements.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and industry-standard estimation or takeoff software.
