About the Role
Paystack is transforming online payments across Africa by simplifying integration, delivering exceptional transaction success rates, and eliminating barriers for businesses. Our Quality Engineering team acts as the standard-bearer for platform reliability, building the infrastructure, tooling, and automated coverage that empowers engineering teams to ship quickly and securely across API, Dashboard, mobile, and POS channels. As a Senior QA Engineer, you will be a hands-on contributor designing robust contract, integration, end-to-end, and performance tests for critical payment flows, directly impacting millions of transactions.
Key Responsibilities- Design, build, and maintain automated test suites for critical payment flows, integrated seamlessly into CI/CD deployment pipelines.
- Improve the testability of new and existing services using test modes, robust test data, stubs, and enhanced observability.
- Own product quality by partnering closely with engineering teams building payments processing, transfers, refunds, and merchant banking.
- Contribute to shared frameworks, tooling, and test data infrastructure used across the entire quality engineering department.
- Review technical designs and test code to continuously raise the quality engineering bar across the organization.
- Strong programming experience in at least one major language, with TypeScript or JavaScript preferred.
- Proven background building and maintaining test automation frameworks for APIs, web, and mobile applications.
- Solid experience executing functional and non-functional automated tests against complex web apps and APIs.
- Strong SQL and data validation skills with a solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
- Prior experience testing payments, fintech, or other high-scale, high-reliability systems.
