About the Role
Ericsson is looking for a Packet Core & Cloud Infrastructure Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our dynamic team in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will sit at the intersection of telecom core network expertise and cloud platform engineering, driving the architecture, deployment, and operations of packet core systems on virtualized and cloud-native infrastructures. You will ensure resilient, scalable environments powering next-generation 4G and 5G services while working alongside multidisciplinary teams to champion automation and DevOps.
Key Responsibilities- Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure supporting Packet Core, EPC, 5G NSA, and 5GC environments.
- Manage cloud platforms such as OpenStack and Kubernetes for complex telecom workloads.
- Oversee the infrastructure lifecycle including installations, upgrades, patching, and capacity planning.
- Ensure high availability, redundancy, disaster recovery readiness, and rigorous performance optimization.
- Lead complex troubleshooting across network, compute, storage, and virtualization layers.
- Drive automation and DevOps practices utilizing CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code.
- Monitor systems proactively using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and CNOM while adhering to strict security policies.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
- 6 to 10+ years of professional experience in telecom core networks and cloud infrastructure.
- Solid understanding of 2G/3G/4G EPC and 5G Core architectures, call flows, and signaling interfaces.
- Relevant certifications such as CKA/CKAD, OpenStack/VMware, or Ericsson vendor credentials are preferred.
- Hands-on expertise with OpenStack for telecom cloud and Kubernetes for containerized network functions (CNFs).
