About the Role
Sun King is the world's leading off-grid solar energy provider, serving over 82 million customers across Africa and Asia. We are seeking a talented Senior Product Designer to join our dynamic team in Lagos or Nigeria. In this role, you will shape the experiences of our customers, field agents, and operational staff, designing intuitive digital products that function seamlessly under real-world constraints like low-end devices and intermittent network connectivity.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct direct user research through field visits, usability testing, and contextual interviews with energy officers and customers.
- Design comprehensive end-to-end user journeys for sales, onboarding, collections, and field servicing.
- Deliver high-craft visual designs optimized for bright sunlight, small screens, low-end Android devices, and low digital literacy.
- Own, evolve, and maintain our enterprise design system in close collaboration with engineering teams.
- Leverage AI tools for rapid concept generation, prototyping, copywriting, and research synthesis.
- Define success metrics and use data to continuously refine and optimize product usability.
- 5 to 7 years of professional experience in digital product design with a strong focus on mobile applications.
- Demonstrated expertise in Figma, including auto-layout, variables, and prototyping.
- Proven experience designing for emerging markets, field operations, fintech, or last-mile distribution.
- Solid understanding of Android design conventions, accessibility standards, and offline-first workflows.
- Professional working proficiency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Local language proficiency in Yoruba, Hausa, or other regional languages is a distinct advantage.
