About the Role

The Federal University of Allied Health Sciences, Enugu (FUAHSE), established to enhance healthcare manpower in Nigeria, is seeking a dynamic and qualified Senior Procurement Officer. Following our transition from a monotechnic to a comprehensive university with six faculties, we require a skilled procurement professional to manage our expanding supply chain, vendor relations, and institutional purchasing processes in compliance with Nigerian public procurement laws.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the end-to-end procurement lifecycle for goods, services, and works in compliance with the Public Procurement Act.
  • Develop and implement strategic procurement plans, policies, and procedures to support the university's academic and infrastructural growth.
  • Conduct comprehensive market research, analyze pricing trends, and negotiate favorable contracts with qualified vendors and suppliers.
  • Supervise tendering processes, evaluate bids, and prepare detailed procurement reports and recommendations for management approval.
  • Maintain accurate records of all procurement transactions, inventory levels, and vendor performance metrics to ensure transparency and accountability.

Qualifications
  • Possession of a relevant Bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Purchasing and Supply, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as CIPS, CIPSMN, or equivalent are strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of cognate procurement experience, preferably within the public sector or higher education institutions.
  • Demonstrated competence, unwavering integrity, and excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Commitment to supporting the strategic objectives and rapid development of FUAHSE.
