We are currently looking for a talented and driven Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a critical part in delivering high-quality marine and offshore solutions, leveraging your technical expertise to execute complex engineering designs, laser scanning data integration, and heavy-duty equipment detailing. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the conceptual, preliminary, and detailed mechanical design of equipment and systems for maritime, oil, and gas applications.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to ensure designs comply with international codes, industry standards, and client specifications.
  • Utilize advanced CAD software and laser scanning data to create accurate 3D models and manufacturing drawings.
  • Conduct thorough design reviews, stress analyses, and feasibility studies to optimize performance and safety.
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and draftspeople within the department.
  • Manage project documentation, technical reports, and design change requests throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Liaise with procurement, fabrication yards, and offshore operations teams to resolve technical site queries.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (Master's degree is an added advantage).
  • Minimum of 6 years of proven mechanical design experience within the Oil, Gas, Petrochemical, or Maritime industries.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Inventor) and familiarity with laser scanning workflows.
  • In-depth knowledge of ASME, API, ISO, and other relevant international design codes and standards.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities with experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
  • COREN registration or active membership in a relevant professional engineering body is highly preferred.
