About the Role

Evidence Action is seeking a Senior Manager for New Program Development to lead our Accelerator—a venture-style pipeline that identifies and scales proven, sustainable health interventions to benefit millions of people. This is a unique opportunity to drive the development of our next generation of health programs from research insights to funded, scalable solutions.

As Senior Manager, you will own a portfolio of early-stage health interventions and shepherd them through our stage-gated development process. You will combine analytical rigor with entrepreneurial drive to transform promising ideas into evidence-backed programs ready for scale, or make well-reasoned decisions to exit unsuccessful initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end portfolio management of pipeline interventions, advancing promising candidates through the Accelerator's stage-gate process
  • Critically evaluate evidence bases, assessing effect sizes, external validity, and gaps with intellectual honesty
  • Partner with the Cost-Effectiveness team to build and pressure-test models, translating findings into actionable decisions
  • Design and execute lean, rigorous field activities including scoping studies, formative research, and pilots to unblock key decisions
  • Develop compelling investment cases and align researchers, implementers, government officials, and donors toward shared objectives
  • Collaborate across Evidence Action teams to secure funding, leverage implementation expertise, and cultivate government partnerships
  • Independently lead stakeholder conversations to source new ideas and strengthen strategic partnerships
  • Strengthen the Accelerator's methodologies and mentor junior team members
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with 6–10 years of experience in quantitative social science, program management, international development, or global health
  • Demonstrated ability to critically read primary research and synthesize conflicting evidence bases
  • Proficiency building or rigorously interpreting cost-effectiveness, epidemiological, or statistical models
  • Track record designing lean learning activities and delivering results under tight timelines
  • Proven stakeholder alignment skills across cultures, sectors, and organizational boundaries
  • Ability to communicate complex technical findings clearly to non-technical audiences
  • Strong multi-workstream management and prioritization capabilities
  • International development experience and comfort working with diverse teams
