About the Role
Evidence Action is looking for a dynamic and analytical Senior Manager, New Program Development to join our venture-style Accelerator team. In this pivotal role, you will own a portfolio of early-stage health and development interventions, driving them from research insights into scalable, fundable programs that benefit millions of people across Africa.
Key Responsibilities- Manage end-to-end pipeline interventions through our stage-gate process, making critical decisions on advancement, iteration, or discontinuation.
- Interrogate research evidence rigorously, assessing effect sizes, external validity, and potential gaps.
- Model impact and cost-effectiveness in collaboration with specialized teams to establish clear go/no-go thresholds.
- Design and execute lean field activities, scoping studies, and pilots to resolve key strategic uncertainties.
- Build compelling investment cases and cultivate strong partnerships with researchers, government officials, implementers, and donors.
- Represent Evidence Action externally and mentor junior analysts within the team.
- Bachelor's degree with 6 to 10 years of professional experience in quantitative social science, international development, global health, or program management.
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex primary research and evaluate study designs critically.
- Proficiency in building or interpreting cost-effectiveness and statistical models under uncertainty.
- Exceptional cross-cultural communication skills with a proven track record of aligning diverse stakeholders.
