About the Role
Stretchit Concept Limited is seeking an accomplished Senior Legal Counsel to lead the company's legal and compliance functions. This is a strategic leadership role for a seasoned legal professional who will provide expert guidance to the Board of Directors and Management, safeguard corporate governance standards, and ensure the organization operates within full regulatory compliance while minimizing legal and business risks.
As the custodian of the company's legal affairs, the successful candidate will oversee contract management, data protection, intellectual property rights, and regulatory relations across the Group. This role demands a proactive, detail-oriented lawyer capable of balancing legal rigor with commercial pragmatism to support business growth and protect organizational interests.
Key Responsibilities- Provide legal advice and support to the Board of Directors, Management, and Business Units, implementing strategies to mitigate legal and business risk.
- Draft and vet contracts and documents, including Service Level Agreements, Software Licensing Agreements, Reseller Agreements, MOUs, Confidentiality Agreements, Joint Venture Agreements, and company policies.
- Oversee the company secretarial function, including preparing board papers, organizing Board/Committee Meetings and Annual General Meetings, and preparing minutes for the Group.
- Liaise with external counsel on legal matters affecting the Group as required.
- Ensure timely regulatory filings and returns, liaise with regulators and government parastatals, and maintain an up-to-date Compliance Dashboard.
- Partner with internal stakeholders such as Finance and IT to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and applicable laws.
- Prepare quarterly legal and compliance reports to the Board and other reports relevant to the Legal Unit.
- Manage the Group's Data Protection portfolio and oversee data protection compliance across regions.
- Protect the company's intellectual property rights through timely registration of IP and source codes.
- Bachelor of Law (LL.B).
- Master of Laws (LL.M).
- ICSAN or Chartered Governance Institute certification.
- Barrister at Law (BL).
- Proven experience in corporate legal practice, compliance, and company secretarial duties.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks, data protection laws, and intellectual property registration processes.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently with sound judgment and high attention to detail.
