About the Role
The University of Benin (UNIBEN), a prestigious federal university founded in 1970, is looking for an accomplished academic to join our Department of Arts as a Senior Lecturer in Theatre Arts. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in delivering world-class instruction, mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students, and contributing to groundbreaking academic research within a vibrant, culturally rich academic community.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical workshops in Theatre Arts and related disciplines to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Supervise undergraduate research projects, master's theses, and doctoral dissertations.
- Conduct high-impact research and publish scholarly articles in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees, contributing to curriculum development and academic administration.
- Mentor students and provide academic advising to foster professional growth and artistic excellence.
- Possession of a PhD in Theatre Arts or a closely related field from a recognized institution.
- A minimum of five (5) years of active teaching and research experience at the university level.
- Must possess a First Degree with not below a Second-Class Upper Division, or a Second-Class Lower Division accompanied by a PhD.
- A strong publication record comprising a minimum of eight (8) peer-reviewed journal articles in reputable outlets.
- Demonstrated ability in curriculum design, student mentorship, and academic leadership.
