Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver structured phonics lessons using approved programmes like Jolly Phonics or Letterland to teach letter sounds, blending, segmenting, and decoding.
- Integrate phonics into broader literacy lessons covering vocabulary, comprehension, creative writing, and oral communication.
- Utilize interactive, multi-sensory teaching methods and differentiated instructional strategies to create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment.
- Assess pupils’ reading and writing progress regularly, maintaining accurate records and providing targeted interventions where necessary.
- Collaborate with colleagues, participate in literacy events, and communicate proactively with parents regarding student progress and home support strategies.
- Possession of an NCE, B.Ed., or B.A. in Education, English, Linguistics, or a related field.
- Specialized training or certification in phonics instruction is a distinct advantage.
- A minimum of 2 years of proven teaching experience in Early Years or Lower Primary education.
- Exceptional pronunciation, diction, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, educational technology, and ICT tools to support modern teaching and learning.
