Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality English Language and Literature lessons aligned with curriculum standards.
  • Teach grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, essay writing, oral English, and literature appreciation.
  • Develop effective lesson plans utilizing differentiated instructional strategies to meet diverse student learning needs.
  • Assess student progress regularly and provide timely, constructive feedback to students and parents.
  • Prepare students for academic excellence in WAEC, NECO, and other external examinations and competitions.
  • Foster critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a genuine, lifelong passion for literature and language learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental teaching methods and enrich the overall student experience.
  • Uphold and promote the school’s core values, disciplinary policies, and student safeguarding standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Education, or a related field (B.Ed., B.A. Ed., or equivalent).
  • Teaching qualification such as PGDE, PGCE, or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of proven teaching experience at the secondary school level.
  • Demonstrated success in preparing students for WAEC, NECO, and other recognized external examinations.
  • Strong subject matter expertise with exceptional classroom management and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the integration of educational technology into daily lessons.
  • Prior experience teaching the British curriculum will be considered an added advantage.
