About the Role

We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Lecturer in Structural Engineering to join our esteemed Department of Engineering. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in delivering high-quality education, mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, and driving innovative research within the built environment and civil infrastructure sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical laboratory sessions in structural engineering and related subjects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, theses, and dissertations.
  • Conduct high-impact, peer-reviewed research and secure external research grants to advance the department's academic standing.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, course evaluation, and departmental administrative duties.
  • Participate in community engagement initiatives, academic committees, and professional engineering bodies.

Qualifications
  • Possession of a PhD in Structural Engineering or a closely related discipline from a recognized and accredited university.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of active teaching and research experience in a tertiary institution.
  • A strong publication record comprising a minimum of eight (8) peer-reviewed articles in reputable national and international journals.
  • Must possess a first degree not below a Second-Class Upper Division, OR a Second-Class Lower Division combined with a completed PhD.
  • Evidence of active membership in relevant professional bodies such as COREN is highly desirable.
