Federal University Lafia invites dynamic and academically driven professionals to apply for the position of Senior Lecturer in Statistics within the Faculty of Physical Sciences. Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging, high-quality lectures and instructions to undergraduate and postgraduate students in Statistics.
- Design, update, and evaluate course curricula in line with modern statistical methodologies and academic standards.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, dissertations, and theses.
- Conduct continuous, high-impact research and publish findings in reputable, peer-reviewed national and international journals.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committee meetings and administrative duties.
- Mentor junior academic staff and contribute to the overall academic growth of the Department of Statistics.
- Possession of a Ph.D. degree in Statistics or a closely related relevant field from a recognized and accredited institution.
- A minimum of six (6) years of post-qualification teaching and research experience in a university or comparable tertiary institution.
- A robust research profile with a minimum of ten (10) publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
- Demonstrated evidence of continuous academic research activity and a proven track record of successful postgraduate student supervision.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills suited for an academic environment.
