About the Role
Federal University Lafia invites applications from suitably qualified and dynamic academic professionals for the position of Senior Lecturer in the Department of Social Work, Faculty of Social Sciences. Established in 2011, our institution is committed to expanding access to quality higher education and fostering groundbreaking research in Nigeria. We are looking for a dedicated scholar who will contribute significantly to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, curriculum development, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical training for undergraduate and postgraduate students in Social Work.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, dissertations, and theses.
- Conduct high-impact research and publish scholarly articles in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
- Participate in curriculum review, departmental administration, and academic committee assignments.
- Mentor junior academic staff and contribute to the overall academic growth of the Faculty of Social Sciences.
- Engage in community development initiatives and establish relevant institutional partnerships.
- Possession of a Ph.D. degree in Social Work or a closely related relevant field from a recognized and accredited institution.
- A minimum of six (6) years of post-qualification teaching and research experience in a university or comparable tertiary institution.
- Evidence of a minimum of ten (10) scholarly publications in reputable local and international journals.
- Demonstrated ability to attract research grants and successfully supervise postgraduate students.
- Strong interpersonal skills, administrative capacity, and a commitment to academic integrity.
