About the Role
Federal University Lafia is inviting suitably qualified academics to apply for the position of Senior Lecturer in Quantity Surveying within our esteemed Faculty of Environmental Design. Established in 2011, our institution is committed to expanding access to quality higher education and fostering groundbreaking research in Nigeria. As a Senior Lecturer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the minds of future built-environment professionals, contributing to curriculum development, and enhancing our vibrant academic community in Nasarawa State.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging undergraduate and postgraduate lectures in Quantity Surveying and related built-environment courses.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, dissertations, and theses.
- Conduct high-level academic research and publish findings in reputable, peer-reviewed local and international journals.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university-wide administrative duties and committees.
- Contribute to curriculum enhancement, mentorship of junior academic staff, and community engagement initiatives.
- Possession of a Ph.D. degree in Quantity Surveying or a directly relevant field from a recognized and accredited institution.
- A minimum of six (6) years of post-qualification teaching and research experience in a tertiary institution.
- Demonstrated academic output with a minimum of ten (10) publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
- Proven evidence of continuous research productivity and the capacity to successfully mentor and supervise postgraduate students.
- Professional membership in relevant built-environment bodies such as the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) is an added advantage.
