About the Role
The University of Benin (UNIBEN), a prestigious federal tertiary institution founded in 1970, is seeking a dedicated and accomplished Senior Lecturer in Public Administration to join our esteemed Department of Social Sciences. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the next generation of public sector leaders, researchers, and administrators through rigorous academic instruction, groundbreaking research, and dedicated student mentorship.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging, high-quality lectures and seminars for undergraduate and postgraduate students in Public Administration.
- Conduct high-impact academic research and publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed local and international journals.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations, theses, and student research projects.
- Participate actively in curriculum development, departmental meetings, and faculty committees.
- Contribute to institutional accreditation processes, community development initiatives, and academic administration.
- Possession of a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Public Administration or a closely related discipline.
- A minimum of five (5) years of active teaching and research experience at the university level.
- A strong publication record comprising a minimum of 8 peer-reviewed journal articles.
- Basic academic qualification requirement includes a First Degree with not below a Second-Class Upper Division, OR a Second-Class Lower Division combined with a PhD.
